MORE THAN 666K PEOPLE JOIN HISTORICAL LIVESTREAM EVENT URBAN DIVAS UNITED PRESENTED BY NEUTROGENA

On Saturday, April 10th it was proven that women are also dominating the Latin urban genre. Urban music female singers Ivy Queen, Chesca, Goyo (from Chocquibtown), Natalia Jiménez, Nesi, Snow Tha Product, Corina Smith, Mariah Angeliq, Nohemy and La Duracacreated an international movement by joining forces to perform live from Downtown Miami at the virtual concert Urban Divas United presented by Neutrogena®. More than 666K+ fans connected to the historic digital event hosted on Ivy Queen’s YouTube channel.


“It is an honor to have received this tribute after everything I have overcome and worked through with passion, strength and dedication. Blessings to all the hardworking and responsible women on the Neutrogena and Urban Divas United team as well as my colleagues that were a part of this special moment in my life—everyone shined on that special and historic night for us women. This type of initiative is the planted seed that will continue growing and be fruitful for all talented women. My heart is full of happiness and gratitude to proudly embody the Latin Urban genre, showing once again that union is power!” said Ivy Queen.

This unprecedented event, hosted by Venezuelan actress Gaby Espino, began with a video in which each artist defines the word “diva.” “A diva is a woman who knows what she wants and is determined,” said Ivy Queen, who was the protagonist of the virtual event that started with the song “Te He Querido, Te He Llorado” performed with Goyo, Nesi and Chesca. Later, each artist sang at least one song until the grand finale where Ivy Queen sang with Natalia Jiménez, who appeared as a special guest. Together they demonstrated their undeniable talent in a genre that has been mostly dominated by male artists.

Miami Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Christina Crespi also celebrated the success of the event, “Urban Divas United was a spectacular virtual event, and we couldn’t think of a better backdrop for this group of talented female artists than downtown Miami’s skyline,” she stated. “Downtown Miami has emerged as a desirable location for the music and entertainment industry, and we look forward to continued collaborations like this to help strengthen the industry here, both virtually and as we start to shift back to more in-person events.”

To bring awareness to the current plights affecting women and our community as a whole, Urban Divas United presented by Neutrogena® joined forces with Conciencia Collective. Together, they facilitated resources to inform and educate peers, artists and influencers, ultimately driving change against the racial and social injustices prevalent in the community today.
